TAMAANI INTERNET – CONNECTING CANADA’S ARCTIC

Tamaani is the Internet service of the Kativik Regional Government. Tamaani Internet brings fiber optic and modem Internet service to 14 separate Nunavik communities, 150 local businesses and organizations and over 1,800 residential subscribers.

Northerners are best positioned to understand the North and as such, we operate the Tamaani network from Nunavik. We believe that our technicians and engineers will best serve the people of Nunavik if they too rely on the network they operate.

We work in partnership with the federal and provincial governments to ensure that Internet service remains available to Nunavimmiut, and telecommunications receives adequate funding for future development.

To do this, we are always improving and adapting our operations to the changing conditions of a northern environment. LTE modems and fiber optic broadband are examples of how we are striving to help our residential and business customers get the most from their Internet experience.

Fiber optic broadband opens up endless possibilities for the future of Nunavimmiut. This service is now available in Kuujjuaq and Inukjuak, coming soon to Salluit, and Puvirnituq, creating the most modern Internet infrastructure available today for Nunavik.
